You realize NASA is In America, right? Kinda makes sense to me that the app would show temps in farenheight- Im just sayin

Good: - Tons of data to browse - The Details section is very educational Bad: - the zoom on the map could be smoother - the resolution of the map seems to be a bit poor - the current location dot didnt need to be that big and could be scaled down once we zoom in - the animated map needs to make selection of how far back we want to see and the speed should be manageable
Hello, Please release an update. On my iPhone 4 it keeps saying loading model, or it will crash if I restart the app.
This app had the information I need.
Very interesting app. Only improvements would be on certain overlays, the text at the bottom can become quite difficult to read against the earth background, depending on what colours are displayed. Also the scrolling/zooming are a bit too sensitive. Would be cool to see ocean currents too.
I wonder why no one rates or reviews this app here in Japanese App Store…
Very interesting!! Only one tip is it possibile slow down the animated dataset?
This works fine on 4s. It has a lot of options showing the state of our home, more acutely, what pollution has done. It is put out by NASA so I would like to think it is up to date. If not, then my 5 stars has become meaningless. Otherwise it is great, would be nice if you could zoom. Thank you
It keeps crashing..Do something guys..
STIILL CRASHING you guys better do something before i delete this app
and informative. ^5 JPL
I love this app and havent had any issues with it. Very educational. One suggestion: please add sea surface temperatures.
Im not an expert on this but I think they confused earths magnetic field with gravity. I believe that gravity is the natural attraction on two objects with mass. The magnetic field is generated by the earths core. Therefore gravity and the Earths magnetic field are two different things . The gravity field graph should be labeled the magnetic field.
Latest update seems to have fixed the crash issue. Now the app functions beautifully! It may not be the most accurate or interactive app of this sort but I like this kind of info & find it extremely interesting. Overall a very nice app. Thanx for fixing the crash bug!
Granted, this doesnt have the same immediate utility as a weather app -- but its great when youre trying to wrap your head around the bigger climate-type issues of the world. Some features are oddly chosen (gravity field -- doubt it changes much; sea surface temperatures -- odd that this is missing), but this is a great start. Any chance of an iPad-formatted version? @Milvetretired -- yes, the Earth has a gravity field, its a little lumpy because its a function of the distribution of mass within the planet. Kind of neat to display, but (if Im not mistaken) only changes on geological time scales.
I too am looking forward to additional data layers that I know NASA has (e.g. SST), but I think this is a great app. I wish there was an iPad version, but this is a great start. For those who arent sure what they are looking at, just press the Details button and it will tell you a bit about what the data is and how it is measured. For example, reading the details about the GRACE data (gravity field) is very interesting. I too would have thought the changes were slower, but there are some pretty significant changes in the past couple of years. Thanks JPL. (iPad version, please!)
NASA has a checkered history WRT mixing units of measurement. One would think that they had learned their lesson. The application should provide the user with temperatures in metric units of measurement - either Kelvin and/or Celsius. Other observations such as the gravity field, sea level etc are provided with metric units. Why not temperatures? Users! Give them an inch, theyll take a mile!
Worth the download!
Great app. Fun and educational.
It crashes every time I open it :(
